I was born and raised in Southern Arkansas and moved to the Bay Area the summer of 2023 for bigger and better things. I have years of experience in emergency medicine and veterinary ophthalmology. I joined South Bay Animal Hospital and Emergency in May of 2024 and was quickly accepted as part of the team. I’ve enjoyed getting to know our clients and wonderful patients that have come through our hospital. Animal care has always been second nature to me since I was a child and patient care is my number one priority.
In my free time, I enjoy drawing pet portraits, playing video games, and restoring antique furniture. I have a sweet dog named Atreyu that demands all the attention. I also have 3 cats, Tortellini, Gargamel, and Gorgonzola, who are equally spoiled.
Natalie C
Veterinary Assistant
I am a Bay Area native and have been working in Veterinary Medicine for over 2 years now. Ever since I was a child, I had a passion for animal care and finally decided to make it my career. I am currently in school to become a licensed veterinary technician, and I am excited to put the things I’ve been learning to use. I’ve recently joined the South Bay Animal Hospital and Emergency team and can’t wait to continue my education here.
When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy spending my free time traveling, going to concerts, or simply spending time with my two cats Winter & Jackson (who constantly keep me on my toes). I look forward to assisting your pets and I promise to treat them like my own!

My love for animals started when I adopted my first dog, Paco from the animal shelter in San Jose. From him, I learned the love of animals is unlike anything else in this world. I graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Neuroscience. I aspire to one day become a veterinarian. I have since been working as a Veterinary Assistant for the last 5 years. I have been blessed to work in many departments including general practice, ICU, Surgery and Emergency. What inspires me is providing excellent patient care. I strive to treat every patient as if they were my own because the little things matter.
When I am not at work I enjoy reading, concerts, and taking my dog to the beach.

I started working at South Bay Animal Hospital & Emergency in early 2015 until late 2019. I moved to Southern California for a few years and just recently came back to join the team again. I am excited to be back and see pets with their owners that I haven’t seen in a few years! Continuing to care for animals as a career is something I am so grateful to have.

I entered the veterinary field in late 2021, but have always managed to find a way to work with animals. I have been a zookeeper, a volunteer wildlife rehabber, an animal care specialist at a rescue/shelter – just to name a few! Every animal deserves to be treated with compassion and empathy. I love being able to provide top-notch care to our patients here at South Bay Animal Hospital & Emergency, as well as tackling the more challenging cases that come through our doors. I’m so glad to be part of such an amazing team

Having been born and raised in Southern California, moving to the Bay Area has been an exciting new adventure. I am so lucky to have become a part of the caring and compassionate staff at South Bay Animal Hospital & Emergency. I love being in a position where I am able to help others and put a smile on someone’s face. I am currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in English education and hope to someday become a teacher.
When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, baking, cooking, trips to the beach, and spending time with my friends and family. I have a very spoiled dog named Buddy who I love so much! Being around animals all day and seeing them receive the care that they need really warms my heart. I am so lucky to be a part of such a great team!

I recieved my RVT License in 2020 and while the road was long, I’m so grateful for my job as a vet tech! It’s definitely challenging at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I am happy to be apart of the team here at South Bay and look forward everyday to helping animals and pet owners through the good and the bad!
In my free time, I enjoy staying home with my own zoo of animals: 3 cats, 3 dogs, 1 bearded dragon, 2 ball pythons and a chameleon!
Amit Atwal, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Amit Atwal was introduced to veterinary medicine at an early age by his father, Dr. Ravinder Atwal. Following in his father’s footsteps, he pursued his veterinary studies at the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. His fascination with internal medicine and surgery naturally led him to specialize in emergency medicine. Before joining the team as an emergency veterinarian, he played a pivotal role in the creation and expansion of the emergency and specialty services at South Bay Animal Hospital, which initially operated solely as a general practice.
Dr. Amit has a keen interest in multimodal pain management, advanced imaging, and managing complex internal medicine cases. He often describes the emergency room as “controlled chaos,” a setting that feels like home to him. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new restaurants and cities, and trying his hand at amateur nature photography.
Amanda Micheli
Practice Manager
I grew up in the small town of Angels Camp California with many pets- dogs, cats, and horses. My love for animals has been present since I was very small. I’ve been working in the veterinary field since 2003 and I truly love it. It allows me to work with the animals whom I love and also enables me to work in the field of healthcare which is my passion.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences in 2019 from the University of South Dakota. When I’m not working, you can find me chasing my two small children, or petting my one-eyed Persian cat, or doting on my shih tzu pug puppy.
